If you’re into thrift shopping around Los Angeles, the Goodwill Southern California Store & Donation Center is a classic stop. Goodwill Stores are known nationwide for turning donated goods into affordable secondhand treasures, and this LA location carries on that tradition with a solid selection. It’s more than just used clothing here — you’ll find an assortment of furniture, housewares, books, and sometimes vintage finds mixed into the racks and shelves.
Walking in, you get that familiar Goodwill vibe: organized but inviting, with rows of clothing sorted by type and size alongside furniture pieces that range from practical to quirky. The clothing section is pretty diverse, covering everything from casual wear to professional attire. Vintage lovers can often spot classic denim, retro tees, or unique outerwear. For anyone furnishing a home on a budget, the furniture selection often includes everything from small tables to chairs and shelving units, all secondhand and ready for a refresh.
Books and housewares round out the experience. You might pick up a well-worn novel or a set of plates that add character without the usual retail markup. What makes this Goodwill stand out among Los Angeles thrift stores is its consistent flow of donations, which keeps inventory fresh and varied. Plus, shopping here supports local job training programs and community services, which adds a feel-good element to every find. Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, housewares & more.
the furniture section is really small and the purses meh. prices were higher than expected. absolutely no clothing pieces under $6 even the lightest tiniest flimsiest piece. i dont like that. you cant use the bathroom. there is absolutely no fitting room. and only 2 mirrors in the whole place. with that being said Jose was so refreshing and pleasant (top tier service, great leadership. i assumed he was a manager), and there was another man working that was nice and pleasant (shorter, black hair) and the security was also very pleasant.
Some of the highest prices I've ever seen at any Goodwill, and all the clothes are fast fashion slop. Any thrift store, even the bins, has better clothes than this place.
Terrible and disrespect to customers!!! I just made a purchase at Beverly branch today. I bought several items with a blue discount label. One of the items I wanted to purchase was a nightgown and robe set hanging together. The blue discount label was only attached to the robe. Therefore, I asked the cashier whether the nightgown inside the set was also included in the discount. The cashier said she would check and ask inside. When she returned, she told me the label was incorrect and brought the item back with a changed label. As a customer, I explained that I have the right to purchase the item at the price shown on the label and that changing the label afterward is not appropriate. The response I received was simply, “We are not selling it.” I find this approach very unethical. All around the world, customers have the right to purchase an item at the price displayed on its label. Moreover, if the situation had been explained politely, I might still have chosen to buy the item. However, saying “we are not selling it” was quite rude and unprofessional.I was told that the cashier’s name is Kim and the manager’s name is Cordy. After this experience, I never will not shop at this branch again,!!!
Awful service. Standing here in line at the moment for 15 minutes. Miss grumpy at the cash register doesn’t belong in this biz you can tell she hates her job. Many have asked her for help and ah pushes the rack past you mumbling. Sad so sad to be that unhappy.
Unbelievably rude, asked to use the restroom for my 3 year old, woman snarking said employees only and went back to rearranging jewelry. I asked her if I could check out quickly because my daughter had to pee and she barked “just a minute,” and then she went back to moving jewelry inch by inch. I hope your kindness is returned to you ma’am.
