This Goodwills location consists of items ranging from clothes such as shirts, shorts, sweaters, dresses , etc to household appliances and furniture such as kitchenware, microwaves , sofas, nightstand, etc. Books and other random items are sold here too. Very organized.

For my first venture in Los Angeles I decided to walk to the Goodwill. They're weekly colored tags are 50% off compared to New York's 40% off.they announce when they're bringing merchandise out on the floor asking the client to wait until they stop the cart before they indulge, that's funny!

i’m hurt, deflated and upset but also confused about my experience shopping here just now. i’m on my way to the hospital just down the street and i know i’ll be there for a while bc i have a kidney stone and they’re going to need to do imaging and possibly surgery. i’ve had a rough year, and am currently unhoused so i really only have the clothes i’m wearing which are a t-shirt and shorts . while it’s warm outside i wanted to stop and see if i could find a sweatshirt so i would have something i could easily put on and take off in case it’s cool in the hospital since im admittedly already pretty uncomfortable from the pain of the kidney stone and I found a hoodie that I really quite liked. I took it over to the dressing room and wanted to try it on, but apparently the dressing rooms at this Goodwill are permanently locked and not available so I just put it on over my T-shirt in the store and looked at it in the mirror and was wearing it and continue to look at other items on the same rack and as I was doing that, I noticed that the woman working at the front counter where the checkout and exit are, was looking at me or at least in my direction. It wasn’t clear to me if she was staring at me or staring kind of off into the distance, but it was for a long enough period that to just break the uncomfortableness of her staring at me, I asked if she thought it fjt. at that point I think I realized she wasn’t looking at me, she was just staring off into the distance because I had to repeat myself and she responded briefly that it looks like my size or something similar and then not very quietly, the guy a couple feet away from her that also worked there said to her that I was about to walk out with the sweatshirt on and I don’t think he intended for me to hear that, but he also made no effort for me not to and I did at which point I felt angry, embarrassed and hurt n . I don’t think I look particularly homeless I do a pretty good job keeping myself groomed and clean, but even if I did that wouldn’t have warranted that comment, especially, since it’s my understandng that Goodwill’ entire mission is employing. those who are were down on their luck. Am I wrong?. nobody wants or chooses homelessness and it’s hard enough already with so lmucb hate and blame directed towsrd the unhoused (inaccurately and incorrectly when it comes to blaming us for perceived increases to violent crimes which we are far more likely to be victkized by than commt.) It just was shitty all around, so I put rhe sweatshirt back on the rack and asked if they were open until 9 as if i planned to rerun later so i could just leave two and two employees if you happen to read this maybe think next time before you behave so awful others. I’m sure you’ve been in situations where people made shitty assumptions about you and you didn’t need them to add to your already shitty day. It would’ve been nice not to experience that today.
