Purpose: Listing synchronization, sales tracking, order history, and cross-platform
inventory management.
Data transmitted: OAuth access token (authorized by you), listing data, completed sales,
seller fees.
When: Only when you connect your eBay account via OAuth in the dashboard.
Retention: Synced data is stored in your account until you disconnect eBay or delete your
account.

Etsy
Purpose: Listing synchronization, receipt/order tracking, and cross-platform inventory
management.
Data transmitted: OAuth access token (authorized by you), listing data, shop receipts.
When: Only when you connect your Etsy shop via OAuth in the dashboard.
Retention: Synced data is stored in your account until you disconnect Etsy or delete your
account.
Policy: Etsy Privacy Policy
Printify (Authorized Partner)
Purpose: Fulfillment and delivery of branded merchandise redeemed through the Thrift Cred
rewards system.
Data transmitted: Recipient first name, last name, email address, phone number (if provided),
and full shipping address (street, city, state/region, zip/postal code, country). Printify also returns
order status updates, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmations to UrbanThrifter via webhooks.
When: Only when you redeem points for physical merchandise and an order is submitted for
fulfillment.
Retention: Printify retains order data per their own retention policies. UrbanThrifter stores
order details (item, variant, status, tracking number, shipping address) in your account for order
history purposes. This data is deleted when you delete your account.
Policy: Printify Privacy Policy
OpenAI
Purpose: AI-powered store description generation for store owners who use the AI Writer
feature.
Data transmitted: Store name, category, location, and user-provided prompts. No personal
user data (email, name, etc.) is transmitted.
When: Only when a store owner initiates an AI description generation.
Retention: OpenAI does not retain API request data beyond processing the request (per their
Enterprise Privacy commitments).

Stripe
Purpose: Payment processing for membership subscriptions, event hosting fees, and custom
plan billing.
Data transmitted: Payment card information is collected directly by Stripe — UrbanThrifter
does not store or access your full card number. Stripe receives your billing name, email, and
address for payment processing.
When: When you subscribe to a paid membership or make any payment on the platform.
Policy: Stripe Privacy Policy
Email Delivery Service
Purpose: Newsletter delivery, subscriber list management, and transactional email
delivery.
Data transmitted: Email address, subscription preferences (topics, frequency), and
geographic area of interest (city/region for location-based store alerts).
When: When you subscribe to the newsletter or opt into store discovery alerts.
Retention: Subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe or delete your account.
Our email delivery service processes your data solely for the purpose of sending communications
on our behalf and does not use your data for any other purpose.
CSV & Data Imports (Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Whatnot, and others)
Purpose: Importing your listing and sales data from third-party selling platforms into
the UrbanThrifter inventory and sales tracking tools.
Data transmitted: No data is transmitted TO these platforms. Data flows one-way: from your
CSV export INTO UrbanThrifter. We do not share your imported data with the originating platform or
any third party.
Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to export
and use data from these platforms. UrbanThrifter is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness,
or legality of data you import. Imported data is treated as user-entered data and is subject to the
same retention, security, and deletion policies as all other user data on the platform.
Google Maps Platform
Purpose: Map rendering, store geocoding, route optimization, distance calculations, and
driving directions for crawl routes.
Data transmitted: Store addresses (for geocoding), user coordinates (when geolocation is
granted, for “Near Me” search and route calculation).
When: When you view maps, search for stores, or plan crawl routes.
Policy: Google Privacy Policy
Affiliate Relationships
UrbanThrifter participates in affiliate and partner programs with eBay (eBay Partner Network), Printify (Printify Partner Program), and Etsy (Etsy Affiliate Program). When you click on product listings or links to these platforms from our Site, tracking cookies may be placed by the respective platform to attribute any resulting purchases to UrbanThrifter. These cookies are governed by the respective platform’s cookie and privacy policies. UrbanThrifter does not receive any of your personal data or purchase details from these affiliate programs — only aggregated commission reports. This does not affect the price you pay on any platform.
Claim Listings
We collect information about you during the claim listing process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, position in business and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of verifying you have the authority to manage the listing.
Handling this data also allows us to:

- – Make you the owner of the claimed listing which can make your name and avatar visible to the public.

Data Collected for Communications
When you sign up for email notifications or newsletters, we collect:
- Email address
- City, region, and country (for location-based notifications)
- IP address (for fraud prevention and compliance)
- User account ID (if logged in at signup)
- Date and time of signup
Legal Basis
We send marketing emails (newsletters, promotions, store notifications) only with your explicit consent (opt-in). Transactional emails related to your account or purchases are sent on the basis of contractual necessity. Under CASL (Canada), implied consent from an existing business relationship expires after two years.
Unsubscribe
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act. Transactional emails cannot be unsubscribed from while your account is active.
Retention
Email notification signup data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. When you delete your account, all notification signup data associated with your account is automatically erased.
