If you’re into thrift shopping, Oxfam Bookshop England is definitely worth a visit. Oxfam is known across the UK for supporting charitable causes through the sale of secondhand items, and their stores always have a well-curated mix of goods. At this particular location, you’ll find a strong focus on books, but it’s not just about reading material. They often stock used clothing, vintage pieces, and sometimes even furniture and housewares, making it a solid stop for anyone who enjoys the thrill of discovering something unexpected.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, a place where you can take your time rifling through shelves and racks without pressure. The book selection is surprisingly broad, covering everything from classic literature to recent bestsellers, plus plenty of interesting non-fiction and children’s books. For anyone who loves vintage clothing, there’s usually a nice assortment of gently worn items — nothing too flashy, but plenty with character and history behind them. The quality tends to be reliable, which means you can shop with confidence.
Oxfam’s reputation goes beyond just thrift; the money spent here supports global development projects and fights poverty, adding a meaningful layer to your shopping experience. It’s a great spot to pick up practical items that are kind to your budget and the environment. For those who enjoy secondhand hunting, Oxfam Bookshop England offers a neat balance of practicality and goodwill, making it a regular stop for locals and visitors alike. This isn’t just a thrift store; it’s a community hub in its own right.

I was very glad to visit the Oxfam Bookshop. It is a small but very charming shop, with many interesting books to entdecken. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you feel immediately welcome inside. The prices are sometimes a little expensive, but I don’t mind so much because it is for a good cause. When you are in London, you should really go inside and have a look — I will come back again for sure!
Still loving the vibe in this shop! It gets better every week. Got some great stuff always worth a visit!!
My current favorite used bookstore. I swear publishers must donate books to Oxfam, I bought 5 recently published books here, all look brand new and a bargain at £3 each.
The local Oxfam bookshop sited amongst the ghost of ‘Literary’ Bloomsbury might well be overwhelmed with a burden of expectations. Not surprisingly, this is well stocked and catalogued over the spectrum of genres with a high incidence of more obscure and less obvious titles. Prices be reasonable, condition good, curation on point with unobtrusive but informed staff. Commendable
Really lovely shop with loads of hardly used and beautiful books but SO expensive (a tiny poetry book was £7). Really nice to have a peruse in (satisfying organisation and huge bookshelfs) if you are a book worm though, just be mindful you will have to sell a kidney if you fancy anything.
