If you’re into thrift shopping, the Oxfam Bookshop England is a spot worth checking out. This isn’t just any thrift store—it’s part of the larger Oxfam chain, famous across the UK for supporting charitable causes while offering great secondhand finds. Oxfam stores usually pull in a mix of donated items, which means you can find anything from vintage clothing and used books to housewares and occasional furniture. The bookshop’s specialty? Books, of course. But don’t be surprised if you stumble upon other interesting thrift items tucked away among the shelves or in adjoining rooms.
Walking into Oxfam Bookshop England feels like stepping into a community hub rather than a typical secondhand store. The place has a relaxed vibe where the thrill of the hunt really shines through. For those who love vintage fashion, there’s often a solid selection of used clothing—well-curated and with a bit of character. Plus, since Oxfam shops support important causes, it feels good knowing your purchase helps people beyond just your wardrobe or bookshelf.
The variety here is part of the store’s charm. You might find classic novels, quirky vintage textiles, or practical housewares that have been gently used but still have plenty of life left. It’s the kind of shopping that rewards frequent visits since stock changes regularly. If you’re around England and enjoy thrift shopping, the Oxfam Bookshop is a reliable stop to explore secondhand goods with a meaningful twist.

Lovely volunteers when I came in, quite detailed categorisation of books and clean and tidy. Fantastic selection of cookbooks!
One of the best charity bookshops i’ve been to, almost always end up buying at least one book even when not intending to
Great selection of books, some lovely greeting cards, etc. On the expensive side for charity shop books (with many books around the £3 mark), but the money goes to a great cause and the choice of books is much better than general charity shops
I really enjoy shopping here and the staff are usually friendly, but today the volunteer near the front door tried to stop me from entering the store because I had a box with me!! I can read the sign on the front door saying “no donations”, there is no reason to be rude or assume that’s why people are entering the store, let alone an excuse to swear under your breath in front of a customer!
This used to be such a good place to get secondhand books for a good price until they tripled the prices of second hand books!!
