Oxfam Muswell Hill is a classic spot for anyone who enjoys thrift shopping in England. This Oxfam location carries the familiar mix of used clothing, books, and household items typical of the chain, but it feels especially approachable and well-organized. The store has that comfortable, lived-in vibe that makes browsing feel less like a chore and more like a casual afternoon of discovery.
Known throughout the UK for supporting charitable causes, Oxfam’s shops are a great place to find quality secondhand goods. The book section here is a solid stop for readers who appreciate secondhand finds. You’ll often come across a mix of contemporary novels, non-fiction, and older editions that can surprise you. I had a really great experience volunteering here. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A special thanks to Peter for being so kind, patient, understanding, and supportive — he made the experience really enjoyable and easy. I’m also thankful to the rest of the team for their encouragement and warmth. It's a great place to volunteer and an experience I'll always remember.
So many pretty things. As a charity shop primarily, whose goal is to beat poverty and respect labourers including artisans’ (mainly women raising families in vulnerable situations) craft and workmanship, prices are reflected of the skill and salary, as well as respect to the quality of the donation by donors. It’s essential and dignified to remember snd understand this.
The store was tidy and well-organized. The staff was friendly and helpful in assisting me to find what I was looking for. Finding such a well-prepared team means that the manager has done an excellent job. Thank you Daniele and team
Fantastic managers and friendly volunteers serving the community in Muswell Hill at this Oxfam branch. Always helpful, and great products for everyone. Thank you Daniele and Peter!
I agree with the other reviews regarding the rudeness of the staff. I was overcharged for an item as the advertised offer had expired but none of the pricing or advertising had been removed. When I realised, I went back the next day to ask them to charge me (what I thought was) the correct price. I was told that I should have read the small print on the poster and that it was a charity shop not a commercial shop so no, they wouldn’t be doing anything about it. Being a charity shop is no excuse for bad customer service! They were rude and off hand. Muswell Hill has no shortage of charity shops and they will now be getting more of my business as I will not be shopping at this Oxfam again.
