Oxfam England is a solid spot for anyone who enjoys thrift shopping. Oxfam shops are well-known across the UK for their wide range of secondhand items, and this location is no different. It’s part of the Oxfam chain that channels profits into fighting global poverty, which makes each purchase feel a bit more meaningful. At this thrift store, you’ll find everything from used clothing and vintage pieces to books and housewares.
The book section is especially worth a look if you love secondhand reading material. There’s a solid mix of genres and some interesting vintage editions sprinkled in. But don’t stop there. The clothing racks often have a nice selection of well-maintained vintage and contemporary pieces. You can spot some real quality items if you spend a little time digging through. Furniture and home goods also show up regularly, adding another layer to the shopping experience.
What’s great about Oxfam England is the balance between thrift store variety and the quality you usually expect from a charity shop chain. The store doesn’t feel overwhelming, and the layout makes it easy to browse without digging through piles endlessly. Plus, knowing that your thrift shopping here supports a good cause gives it an extra appeal. Whether you’re after classic books, vintage style, or just some affordable housewares, Oxfam England is a reliable place to visit.

One of the best bookshops in Chiswick. You can find a great selection of books in different topics. Valuable and old books is one of the most advantageous of this bookshop. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff
Great bookshop this. And a good music selection as well.
All you need is £2 and you can pick up a good book (with plenty of choice). Staff not always friendly in my experience.
It's a cute bookshop with pretty good books from a different variety of genres. Although I think that they need to redesign the shelf placing you kind of have to squeeze through between the shelves to look at the books despite there being a decent amount of space to place them somewhere better. Nice to go on a sunny day in the Summer though. Staff were extremely rude as one of the members of staff kept curtly asking me to move. I understand why she asked me to move, but she didn't have to sound so patronising. The old man at the till kept unsettingly staring at me when I was buying the books. When he gave me my change, he gave me a fake pound! Please check your change when you go to this shop. After a tiring day of training and just wanting to buy something for my grandma, I didn't even remember to check it. Overall, it was a bit of a strange and maybe even racist (because all the members of staff there were old and white) experience, but perhaps that's just London for you.
Have been coming to this store for years but cannot afford the books that they sell anymore. £4 and upwards for books that they receive for free is unjust. Sadly will no longer be donating to them or purchasing as a result.
