About This Store

Shopping at Goodwill Stores Lynchburg

If you’re into thrift shopping around Lynchburg, the Goodwill Store and Donation Center is a solid place to check out. This Lynchburg Goodwill Stores location carries the familiar mix the chain is known for—affordable used clothing, household goods, and even occasionally vintage pieces that show up on the racks or shelves. It’s a classic thrift store experience that’s dependable if you want to dig through clothing, furniture, books, or kitchenware without breaking the bank.

What’s great about Goodwill in Lynchburg is the steady flow of items. Because it’s a donation center, the inventory refreshes quite often. You can find anything from casual wear and work clothes to coats and accessories. The furniture section, while not huge, often has neat pieces that can be repurposed or styled in a vintage or eclectic way. And the housewares range from practical everyday stuff to quirky curios if you have the patience to hunt.

Lynchburg Goodwill Stores also stand out for being accessible and community-focused. Shopping here feels like supporting a local cause since proceeds often fund job training and other programs. So while you’re grabbing a stack of used books or a couple of dresses, you’re also helping the community in a small but meaningful way. For anyone who enjoys the thrill of thrift shopping mixed with a good cause, this Goodwill spot in Lynchburg fits the bill. With patience and a keen eye, you’ll come away with quality finds without the overwhelm of larger, more chaotic thrift stores.

Nice bargains and staff as usual with this brand. Spacious and clean store. the money for roundups actually goes towards the programs at that store and locally. Don’t forget to sign up for the loyalty program.

I gave 3 stars because all isn’t bad. Let’s start with the good, the store is nice, bright and clean actually better than any other in the area when it comes to the products on the floor you can find some nice quality stuff and wide variety of women men and children clothes the cashiers are always friendly especially Ruth and the staff can always be found and very helpful which is why I keep coming back. Now to the bad THE ODOR! I read a few comments about it but it didn’t discourage me from what the new location had to offer. The first few times I have encountered a gentleman hanging clothes and I had to go to another aisle until he was gone to continue my shopping. I mentioned this to the manager “Catherine” hoping the next time my experience would be different. I see goodwill have a lot of policies including there new bagless policy which has rolled out but they are neglecting there hygiene policy. the encounter I had with the same gentleman THIS MORNING at the donation door lead me to my review he smells 10x worse and so rude, I understand they have to ask about the receipt but the constant down my throat with it is unacceptable I said no already I guess they sit him at that door to keep him away from the actual store instead of implementing and ENFORCING there hygiene policy like they do there refund policy and every other policy they come up with. I donate at least twice a week and i dread seeing/smelling him I hope the short cut young lady is there every time and probably should be the one dealing with costumers directly shes friendly and smells pleasant. She must be new I can not remember her name. KYP! I hope it gets better I really enjoy shopping and donating at this location

NO DRESSING ROOMS. Non clothing is an unorganized mess. Lighting IS WORST I'VE EVER SEEN! Puts glare in eyes. Music level nice and low. Staff are great. When you say you no longer offer dressing rooms at any of your stores, you simply are misinformed, uninformed, ... wrong. Other GWs have dressing rooms open even this week. At least you didn't use the empty excuse "no dressing rooms for our employee's safety". 🤣😅😂

October 18th right before closing time. About 6:00 p.m. I returned to the store to return a defective item from the previous day to get store credit I couldn't find anything so I returned to speak to the manager a Caucasian male he had a dry attitude like you have to buy something but I'm not from this area so I went back looking for something founded traded it out for the store credit receipt of $10 so while I was talking with unemployment about it away from the register about a piece of furniture I still wasn't through shopping your Caucasian manager told me to leave the store and I wasn't doing anything wrong he was just being childish and discriminatory and whatever else you want to call it. I guess that's why they work here because they're on probation are they have issues which makes them a step lower of normality so you have to play down to it and don't draw too much attention even if you're spending your hard-earned money. Well I hope your manager who showed this profiling discrimination to me never gets a better job than what he's doing now. And please don't ever give this man a pay raise because he doesn't deserve it he's about a 6'2 white male and maybe 40 years old and he basically told me to stop talking to the worker and to leave the store but I wasn't through shopping. Maybe he wasn't on his medications

Several employees smell like they haven’t showered in weeks or choose not to use deodorant it’s absolutely disgusting. I thought it may have just been an off day so I didn’t judge and went about my time shopping, however I’ve returned to the goodwill several times and it is every single day, the few who stink do not shower regularly if at all. It’s so bad I’ve had to stop shopping here because it’s so repulsive. I understand as a manager it’s an uncomfortable conversation but something has to be done and that conversation needs to be had, every retail employee signs paperwork that says they will maintain and standard of good hygiene, my message to the managers is it’s time to enforce your own policies and take corrective action.
