Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, furniture, housewares & more.
Of course different locations will have different items but this location always seems to have several things that peak my interest every time I visit. Today was no different, I found a very cute athletic yoga type top with the Houston Rockets logo, another Nike one, and another Old Navy one. Then a cute normal casual top in the prettiest blue color.
(The Donation Center is on the left side of the shopping center, just turn right next to Starbucks and go down a bit, can't miss it!) This is probably the least "Goodwill" Goodwill that I've ever been to, if that makes sense. It feels very new and manufactured. The prices are way higher than they should be and they even sell a ton of brand new grocery-type items. This place does not give you the charms of a thrift store or typical Goodwill experience, HOWEVER, I will give them credit that this place is remarkably clean. The employees work hard and are nice whenever I come in. The Donation Center was tucked away, so if you're looking to donate you'll have to park elsewhere. They don't take donations at the front/cashier. If you're looking for a more upscale Goodwill experience then this is the location for you. Very clean, very new, but you'll pay for the difference. I would give this place a 3-star rating, but I feel bad knocking a place for being TOO good. I'll leave it as 4 stars since the employees work hard to make the store look nicer than your typical Goodwill.
Only four unisex dressing rooms for the entire warehouse of clothes means long lines. Staff is indifferent.
Everytime I’ve been here the staff has had an incredibly unproffesional vibe. Anytime you’re near the register you just hear them loudly cussing and complaining about customers….in full earshot of customers. Their language is vulgar and unpleasant enough to always make me reconsider going to this location. Today, while looking at a portrait of a tiger, a female worker with glasses and high pitched looney toons voice passed by and sarcastically said “its a tiger!“, I guess trying to judge me for assesing the quality of an item I was considering buying?? At the risk of being incredibly rude, its hard to describe the staff as anything other than ‘trashy’, at least the ones I’ve seen. Great stuff though! Keeps me coming back :)
Hello Goodwill shoppers. I've learned on yesterday while shopping in the Goodwill on Anderson Lane that Goodwill is going to a policy of no refunds I've shopped at goodwills for many of years. I've seen the changes over the years through the upgrades to the price fluctuations to the new corporate look where they're upgrading stores and locations and in some cases building stores from the ground up. And their mission is to provide employment for people who has barriers to employment, which is a great mission and I'm sure other missions too. I've seen a corporate turn in Goodwills. The mission is not reflecting the name Goodwill. "Goodwill" I think the name should change to "Greedwill" I've noticed all over the city. The stores are being upgraded and pretty new look. It's nice and all but I'm noticing price changes And a lot of the products doesn't reach the store. It's being pushed to an e-commerce store. Kind of in the shadows. In a nutshell, what's happening the cost of all these upgrades and what I feel is sometime excessive? Is driving prices up within the retail stores causing the pricing and the tactics to make more money a little sheisty and the lines gets blurred And the mission of quote on the quote Goodwill is kind of just a name And no longer the mission. I'm sure a lot of the big cats up in the corporate office are making hefty salaries all in the name of Goodwill. I'm not saying that people should work for free. I'm just noticing the change and as a long time customer and Patriot of the Goodwill of central Texas I think I deserve my say not like it's going to change anything but I'm going to have my say. Please don't forget the mission."Goodwill" You're slipping deeper and deeper into Greedwill And corporate America Fortune 500 spotlight And the lines gets more and more blurry and you miss your mark. I can go on and on but I'm going to stop at this point. These remarks does not reflect on the Anderson Lane store employees they have always been respectful and courteous. This is just where I heard the announcement of the new policies which I express my dissatisfaction to one of the employees and said I would write this review. I think a refund for an item that you are dissatisfied with or is not working properly is important and if the company Goodwill respected that they would do away with this policy..
