If you’re exploring Phoenix thrift options, Bethany East | Goodwill Retail Store & Donation Center is a solid spot to check out. Part of the well-known Goodwill chain, this location carries the brand’s reputation for supporting community programs while offering a wide range of secondhand goods. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a good amount of time digging through racks and shelves.
Bethany East’s collection is pretty broad. Clothing is one of the main draws here, with everything from casual wear to some vintage pieces tucked in among the racks. It’s not unusual to find quality used clothing for men, women, and kids, which makes it a frequent stop for thrifters hunting for unique styles or everyday basics. Beyond apparel, there are usually plenty of housewares and books. The furniture section is worth a glance too — you can catch well-maintained pieces or even some quirky vintage finds if you’re patient.
What’s nice about this Goodwill is how it balances the typical thrift store chaos with a fairly organized setup. The aisles aren’t overly cluttered, which makes sorting through things more manageable. Plus, donations come from a wide area, so the inventory changes regularly. Because it’s a Goodwill, shoppers can feel good knowing their purchases help fund local job training and community services — a little bonus to the thrill of thrift shopping.
For anyone into Phoenix thrift stores, Bethany East is a convenient, dependable choice. It offers a little bit of everything, and the ever-changing stock means it’s worth revisiting often. Whether you’re after vintage finds, household items, or just some affordable used clothing, this Goodwill store delivers a practical, no-frills thrifting experience.

This has to be the most organized and well kept Goodwill that I’ve been to in Phoenix. Whoever the manager is of this store deserves a high five. They have done an amazing job with this store. Most of the employees here are courteous and polite as well.
It's clean and everyone is very friendly but the prices are too high. It's a thrift store and the only reason I am shopping here is because I am not rich. I totally understand that prices are up all over and they have expenses and salaries to pay but on the other hand, this is all donated and some stuff is priced higher than when the item was new. I can't really give examples of prices but I remember seeing a fan priced at $20 and that same fan was at Family dollar on clearance for $12. However, this was probably an oversight and it was in summer when fans are in demand in Phoenix Arizona. But it is still a nice place to find bargains when the color matches and senior discounts on Tuesday.
This place used to be a gold mine. Now it just sucks. THEY GET THE CLOTHES FOR FREE and still charge too much. I always see goodwill employees taking a break outside talking about how much their job/life sucks. Water fountain doesn’t work either. Selection of clothes suck because thrifting is no longer niche. This place gets picked clean every Saturday morning by people who sleep with crumbs on their bed. Bring back the trampoline park that was in this location.
Do better goodwill. Overpriced for overused old items. Clothes are torn apart. Litreral rust and cobwebs in the items. Check out these curling irons from 1990...
A customer at Goodwill was testing the piano in good condition at this location, and the lady came on the intercom, and had a really nasty attitude about it. Like why have a piano on the sales floor, when you know customers that want to buy it will play it? The attitude wasn't necessary, also the same lady called over the "manager" for a $12.99 electronics price override, and the heavy set male manager comes charging through the back doors with a mean streak, pushes right into me as I'm having a conversation, doesn't even say "excuse me". 4:40pm "ish" Sun, Nov 23, 2025 I wanted to say something but didn't want to get kicked out or banned from that store for her nasty intercoms attitude. Not going back to that store. I will take my business to Metro Center, and 15th & Camelback instead. Nasty attitude was uncalled for 100%... Store was also crowded ? Good way to sturr customers away.... If you don't want a piano tested or sold, $59.99 good working condition, doesn't sound like it needs tuned? Let the customers test it to buy it, lady, you may have just lost $59.99 sale cuz of your attitude. Me and my friends all walked out! DO BETTER Goodwill To those of Goodwill and customers reading this, every review I've ever posted rather this account, or others, always gets plenty of viewers, something to consider to take action on Goodwill? Do you want this location to suffer because of two bad apples? I've also told a good handful of people, word of mouth spreads VERY fast Update: 6:30p Friends I've talked to since this incident says it should be locked, and a sign that says ask for assistance to test piano ? Something to consider?
