Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, housewares & more.
Clothing was pretty well organized, color coded instead of size coded like any other Goodwill so it was easy to shop for colors I enjoyed. The staff was wonderfully sweet and helpful, and the store wasn't all too busy when I went in. A nice thrift store to peruse for little treasures as usual, if you're looking for someplace for second hand finds!!
Goodwill isn't the same as before. Very overpriced and questionable prices for some items. The section with the various items towards the left of the store comes across as just trash with prices. There is not enough variety for other items besides clothes. Their clothes sections are organized and have plenty of good clothes. The store could use some cleaning too.
Not sure what is going on. Super disappointing. It used to be better. All art is too high to reach and look through. The housewares are now just junk on some plastic racks. Turlock is no different. Nevada city has a proper store. We have no GW bin stores and videos I follow on fb of other GW stores are amazing and decently priced. SADLY I choose other stores to frequent.
I came here looking for a few items—shorts, coasters, and a lunch box for my nephew. I found two identical lunch boxes: one with spaceships (priced at $6.79) and one with dinosaurs (no tag). Despite being the exact same product, the staff refused to sell me the dinosaur one simply because it lacked a tag. I shop to find things that make my family’s day better, but this experience did the exact opposite. While most of the staff were friendly, the man working the register was incredibly rude, dismissive, and lacked even a shred of basic empathy. Even if his hands were tied by "policy," he didn't even have the decency to be apologetic. He acted as if my business didn't matter. It is ridiculous that a store that prices items on-site is "incapable" of pricing an item on the spot to complete a sale—especially when an identical item with a price tag is sitting right next to it. If an item isn't for sale, it shouldn't be on the floor. In the age of the internet and the convenience of shopping online, I choose to go to a physical store for the experience. I want the human interaction and the joy of finding something special, but this experience was insulting and a total waste of time. I ended up leaving everything behind. I won't be back. If you value your time and want to be treated like a human being, go elsewhere.
"Manager" was rude as all can be. I bought an article clothing and since they don't have fitting rooms I had to take my chances trying it on at home and the tag popped off while doing so. They refused an exchange due to the tag coming off even though it is not listed anywhere in the store about this "policy" I spend a lot of money here and love thrifting but will not be returning.
