Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, housewares & more.
I really enjoyed shopping at this location. I even found some high-end clothing like Talbots, Pranab and Columbia. The sales associate was so sweet and helpful too. The bathrooms do close 30 minutes prior to closing so the staff can clean.
Found some nice finds at this Goodwill, but unfortunately I was deeply put off by the conduct of the male manager(?), whose passive aggressive and overbearing demeanor toward employees was difficult to watch. It ruined the atmosphere for customers such as myself. Given how poorly the treatment was, I have no desire to support this Goodwill establishment again.
Yesterday I was displeased with the costumer service from a manager on duty on 2/24 around noon at this location on 22nd and Alvernon. I picked up a children’s clothing item that was in the children’s section of this store (along with the rest of my findings). Getting to the register the young lady that was the cashier on duty called for a manager to the front. At this time the manager refused to sell me the item at childrens price because he stated it was not a children’s item and was misplaced. I pointed out that the tag stated, “Zara boys” with a 13/14 size and children’s items go up to size 16. He then stated that Zara doesn’t make children’s items and also, “I can tell it’s not kids by the way the sleeves are cut” I wasn’t aware that the young man with dark hair that is the manager of this store was not only a manager but also has seamstress knowledge on how children’s clothing items are made, along with being so confident to state that Zara does not make children’s items. Instead of checking he was fast to turn this sale away even though it was a quick google search away that Zara does in fact have childrens clothing, he instead decided to sit on his high horse and confidently refuse this sale. I am a frequent costumer and donator to goodwill but this incident has rubbed a bad taste in my mouth if this is how the managers on duty treat their costumers and refuse to sell merchandise THEY themselves have put on the floor at their prices THEY PUT. I will update this post when I receive the managers name. Goodwill - I understand it’s a thrift store but you also make it by with donations from people and the very same time people making purchases at your place of business, please do better at training your managers.
Had to edit my review because I was just accosted by an employee. I pulled up to drop some stuff on at the drive through when I pulled up behind 2 cars to what seemed like they were waiting in line, but it turns out they were not, not dropping off or anything. One guy wasn't even in his car, he was talking to the guy in front of him. They were completely blocking the driveway with no intention of moving. I had no idea what to do because I cant wait 20 minutes for them to finish talking before I have to drop my stuff off. Then when I got out of my car to tap on the door did the employee accost me for not being in my car. Why wasn't anyone telling those people they cant park in the drive through. Only then did those 2 guys finally moved their cars and continued to talk. And thats my fault how? Not nice. Not cool.
Awful!! I have been in customer service for 34 years. I walked into Goodwill last night 6:56pm 4 minutes before closing which was 7pm. I was looking around for a few minutes and then told the store was closed and asked to leave. What should have been done was lock the doors and allow the customer to finish shopping in addition to letting them know that the store is now closed and to please be respectful or however the associate wanted to express this in a polite manner. It is not right... you are open until 7pm! Not 6:54 6:55 6:56 etc... inappropriate.
