I visited on a Saturday but was still able to find some great finds for myself. I found a few clothing items priced $4-7 and tried them on but several of them had holes which can be expected I guess. I was interested in 2 items that I wasn't sure if they worked. The man I think who runs the store went above and beyond to help me out by checking the items out to make sure they worked. They were priced more than fair and I was very pleased with my experience.

I regularly shop at this store and the Hoover location. Overall they both good stores with many good deals. However, They both have the most mediocre selection of pictures

The store is big and spacious. My first impression of the gentleman at the register is that he wasn't very friendly. Perhaps he was tired or having a rough day. Lots of options here and will serve a good cause with your purchases!

Beside the Salvation Army price gouging their patrons, this place was completely unorganized with no sizing (just color coordinated). An employee said "excuse me" and before I had a chance to move, she was barging into me to put up some shoes. The carts (all 4 of them) squeaked incessantly. There was absolutely nothing worth purchasing and I found a Montana West purse similar to the one I got off Amazon brand new for $25 for the same price here, used. Absolute highway robbery. Go elsewhere cause the company's stores are screwing over people left and right with these insane prices. Update 2/24/26: Thought I'd drop down my review a star but turns out I already rated them 1 star. Either way, train your idiot drivers who has the right of way when two cars opposite one another at a split intersection are waiting to turn. Heads up, it was me and your driver almost clocked me in his big truck this morning.

I travel weekly to Birmingham for my child’s appointments and always enjoy stopping at different Salvation Army locations, especially the Hoover and Homewood stores. Unfortunately, my last two visits to the Homewood location have been disappointing. Both times I encountered employees who were unnecessarily rude. On my most recent visit, one employee even told me to move the hangers more quietly while I was browsing. I explained that I wasn’t damaging any clothing and that the sound of the hangers was unavoidable since they are metal and plastic hangers on a metal rack. The interaction still left me uncomfortable. When I asked management about it, I was told they did not have an employee by the name he gave me, which means he knowingly gave me a fake name because he knew he was in the wrong. I had to physically point him out, and even then, management did not seem very concerned. To make matters worse, while I was speaking with them, another customer was also complaining about rude treatment from a different employee. I normally enjoy shopping Salvation Army stores, but this location in particular has consistently left me with a negative impression compared to others.
