If you’re in Roanoke and interested in thrift shopping, the Goodwill Store and Donation Center is one of the most reliable stops for a solid range of secondhand goods. This Roanoke thrift store is part of the larger Goodwill chain, which is known nationwide for offering affordable used clothing alongside a wide variety of household items. It’s not just about clothes here; shoppers often find furniture, kitchenware, books, and sometimes vintage pieces that add character to any collection.
Walking through the aisles, you’ll notice the selection is pretty broad. Used clothing is the main draw for many, from casual wear to some unexpected nicer items that could work for work or dressier occasions. But there’s also a decent stretch of shelves and racks with housewares and home décor. The furniture section can be hit-or-miss, but when something good turns up, it tends to be well-priced. Plus, this store often has books and media, which is a nice bonus if you like flipping through secondhand reads while you shop.
What sets this Roanoke thrift store apart is how it balances being a donation center and a retail location. Because of that, there’s a steady rotation of inventory, which means every visit can feel a bit different. It’s a place where you never know what might pop up. For anyone who enjoys the thrill of thrift shopping and appreciates supporting an organization focused on community programs, this Goodwill location is a solid choice in Roanoke. The vibe is straightforward and no-frills, the prices are friendly, and the mix of vintage and everyday secondhand items makes it a practical stop for thrifters of all levels.

Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, housewares & more.
Clean, organized, and all in all I'd have to say in pretty good shape. I bought a number of odd items that I did not expect to find there.
They always have the best items in the community! They really do choose the best to show and sell. Thank you.
My wife and I love all the Goodwill stores. Clean and friendly employees. Always finding something to save us money.
Very greedy. Used to be good but selling fakes and damaged pieces for eBay prices is crazy. Don’t go here
First off let me start by saying the store is always a hot mess. Secondly if you choose to be employed then it will be short term because the manger Shannon and Tomi do nothing but talk crap about employees and write them up with B.S reasons. Examples you might ask, we all no goodwill has said to employ people with disabilities, yeahhhh my autistic daughter started there made it clear she has some issues with making eye contact with people. Within a month she was written up for that even when she questioned who had complained and who was thw person she didnt make eye contact with, no response was given, just forced to sign a write up. But remember Goodwill is there to help employ people with disabilities. Secondly when they ask if you want to round up and you dont, they will write the worker up. This ultimately lead to my daughter getting fired. My daughter may not be fast, or good at making eye contact but she worked overtime with no complaints, she worked other "NO SHOW" employees shift last minute no questions asked. As far as I am concerned asking people who are shopping at Goodwill due to financial issues to donate "round up" is ridiculous. This billion dollar company that receive DONATIONS FOR FREE. Firing decent employees that help out this particular store, no questions asked. All of our donations will be given to Rodeo Thrift or shelters, Never stepping foot into a Goodwill again.
