About This Store

Shopping at Salvation Army New York

If you’re into thrift shopping around New York, the New York Salvation Army thrift store is definitely worth checking out. This location is part of the well-known Salvation Army chain, which has a long-standing reputation for supporting local communities through its thrift stores. You’ll find a mix of items here that reflect the city’s eclectic style and the store’s steady flow of donations. From used clothing to vintage pieces, it’s a reliable spot for secondhand shopping in New York.

The inventory is pretty broad. Clothing is a big part of the mix, including everything from casual wear to some neat vintage jackets and dresses that can stand out in a crowd. But don’t stop there—furniture and housewares often pop up too, making it a good place to hunt for affordable home goods. If you like flipping through books or enjoy adding some quirky kitchenware to your collection, this store tends to have those as well. The selection changes frequently, which is part of the charm. It means every visit can turn up something new or unexpected.

The New York Salvation Army thrift store leans into quality, with many items in good condition despite being used. It’s not just about scoring a deal; it’s about finding pieces with character and supporting a cause. Shopping here feels different from a standard thrift store run because the profits go to Salvation Army programs that help people in need across the city and beyond. So while you’re diving into racks of clothing or sifting through shelves of books, you’re also contributing in a small but meaningful way.

If you’re serious about New York thrift shopping, this Salvation Army spot is worth a couple of visits. The variety and turnover keep it fresh, and you never know what statement piece or practical item you might come away with. It’s a straightforward, no-fuss kind of store that offers a window into the city’s secondhand scene—and that, to me, is what makes it interesting.

Look, this is as solid of a thrift store as any. Prices are mostly reasonable, the inventory changes often. Been stopping by for years, I walk out with something at least 50% of the time which is the correct amount imo.

AMAZING PRICES!!! The prices here are unbelievable for the quality of clothing you find 😱 Customer service at the register by a kind man was superb, he was really helpful and informational (I wish I got his name to shout him out, he was dripped out with a cap on) I highly recommend anyone in the area to check this store out!

This thrift store has a great range of items with actual thrift store prices. Although the winter coats also go for $20 or so. All other items are reasonably priced whether or not they are designers and there are a lot of designer items. A majority of the clothes are older or out of style but you will find a few gems here and there. Totally recommend it as a low cost, variety-full store.

Pretty nice in my opinion. T shirts, dresses, bags, shoes. Not a lot of space for the aisles. You have to dig for good stuff and the prices are nice. Some items are more expensive though.

I went on a day where it’s listed that the white clothes are 50% off so I chose something white and tried it on before buying it obviously. The tags on the clothing I wanted to try was 7.99,but since the tags are quite flimsy it dropped off. And I was trying to tell the cashier that I saw it for 7.99 and he said it’s 6.99 and I should be happy with it because it’s cheaper. And I can’t get the 50% off because of no tags. But it’s paper just stapled to clothes so it’s pretty likely to fall off. I mean the clothes are a good price but the guys attitude and tone made it really unpleasant :/
