If you find yourself in Buena Vista and enjoy thrift shopping, the Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity & ReStore is worth a stop. This Buena Vista thrift spot is part of the national Habitat ReStore chain, which is known for offering used building materials, furniture, and household items while funding local Habitat for Humanity projects. Unlike your average thrift store, the ReStore mixes in some construction surplus and reclaimed items alongside more typical secondhand goods, which makes browsing here a bit more interesting.
At this Buena Vista location, the inventory ranges from gently used furniture and home décor to books and occasional vintage clothing. You can often find quality housewares, tools, and even lighting fixtures. It’s a good spot to check out if you like the hunt for functional secondhand pieces with character, especially if you’re furnishing a home on a budget or looking for something a little different from the usual thrift store fare. The stock turns over regularly, so it pays to drop by every now and then.
What stands out about Habitat ReStore Buena Vista is their mission-driven approach. Shopping here isn’t just about scoring deals on used items—it’s about supporting affordable housing efforts in the community. When you buy at the ReStore, part of the proceeds help build homes and improve neighborhoods in the area. That adds a meaningful dimension to your thrift shopping experience, making it more than just a routine hunt for vintage or used clothing.
Overall, the Habitat ReStore Buena Vista offers a unique twist on thrift shopping in Buena Vista. It’s a place where secondhand meets community impact, with a mix of practical home goods and occasional vintage finds. If you like your thrift stores with a purpose and some variety beyond clothing racks, this is a spot to keep in mind.

Love the restore, great ppl, great prices
Today was our first time visiting, and we had a terrific experience. The lady at the front (ageless, fun, helpful, sharp) and the men we interacted with helped us find the perfect dresser along with some pretty, little dishes, and a hardback book (50 cents!). All the money the store makes goes to benefit the community. They even have tape measures you can borrow while you're there to check measurements. There is a wide variety of items from old records to nice new kitchen sinks. Some of the furniture is older and used; however, there are newer nice pieces as well. They also have new area carpet rugs.
We have been coming here for quite a few years now, and have always found very nice new appliances that may have dents or scratches on them . I don't care they work great and get them at a nice discount and all that money goes back to Habitat for Humanity❤️❤️
Whenever we come to Colorado to visit, we stop by this ReStore. There prices are low and they have a lot of items that can help with remodeling and other miscellaneous things.
After walking in and causing no trouble, being there mere moments, touching nothing, literally walking to the display case, I was asked to give over my pack and then asked to leave. They have a staff problem.
