Oxfam England is a classic stop for anyone into thrift shopping, especially if you have a soft spot for books. This Oxfam location follows the chain’s well-known mission: all profits go to supporting global poverty alleviation efforts. That adds a meaningful layer to your thrift store haul, knowing your purchase has a positive impact beyond just your wardrobe or bookshelf.
Here, you’ll find a carefully curated mix of secondhand items. The used clothing selection often includes vintage pieces alongside everyday wear, making it a solid spot to score unique finds without digging through racks for hours. Beyond clothes, there’s usually a decent lineup of books—everything from novels and biographies to cookbooks and children’s titles. For those who like to spruce up their space on the cheap, Oxfam England frequently stocks furniture and housewares that are both affordable and stylish in their own right.
Shopping at this Oxfam is a relaxed experience. The store’s layout encourages browsing, so you can enjoy the thrill of discovery without pressure. Because it’s part of a larger charity chain, the quality tends to be quite reliable compared to some thrift stores where condition can vary widely. It’s a great place to start if you’re new to thrift shopping or if you want to add some eco-friendly, budget-friendly finds to your home or closet. Overall, Oxfam England sticks to what the Oxfam brand does best—offering well-sourced secondhand goods with a conscience.

Great staff and a really good selection of books. There’s also a cabinet of rare and antique books.
Visited today and what a little gem this shop us. The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was a wide variety of books and DVDs to browse and good music being played too !! I will certainly be visiting again.
This is a cute little bookstore in a great location. I always find the staff friendly, but not overly so. There is also a decent selection of DVDs and music, which I enjoy. I have just knocked a star because I do find the prices a bit expensive on some items, but there are certainly gems if you take the time to find them.
They have some hidden gems for cheap prices. However, some hardcovers are priced more expansive than their original price!! There is a children section, fiction, science and art, and languages.
was put off by the filthy state of this shop, when did it last a vacuum cleaner or a duster? The detritus at the entrance as you walk in and all over the carpets looks like it hasn't been cleaned in about 20 years...
