Thrift Finds scans thousands of active eBay and Etsy listings daily, looking for vintage and secondhand items priced significantly below what similar items typically sell for. When we find a deal, we show you everything you need to make a smart flip decision.

Understanding the Card

Listed Price — What the seller is asking for the item.

Shipping — What it costs to have the item shipped to you. Items with shipping costs over 50% of the listed price are flagged with a ⚠ warning since high shipping eats into your profit.

Total — Your all-in cost to buy (listed price + shipping to you).

Suggested Sell Prices

We track every brand across its category and calculate the median price — the midpoint of what all sellers are currently asking for similar items from that brand.

• Quick Flip — 80% of the median. Price it below the competition to sell fast. Best when you want quick turnover and don’t want to sit on inventory.
• Full Value — The full median price. You may wait longer for a buyer, but you maximize your return.

What “+$XX.XX net” Means

The green number is your actual take-home profit after all costs are deducted:

Ship-out costs are estimated by category (clothing ~$5, kitchenware ~$10, furniture ~$25, etc.) since a t-shirt in a poly mailer costs far less to ship than a glass dish that needs bubble wrap and a box.

The Profit Badge

The green badge on each card (e.g. 110–172% profit) shows your return on investment as a range:

• The low end is your profit if you Quick Flip it
• The high end is your profit if you sell at Full Value

This is real profit — after platform fees and shipping, not raw markup.

Market Data

Each card includes market intelligence to help you decide whether a deal is worth pursuing:

Comps — How many similar items from this brand are currently listed, plus the price range (low to high). More comps = more reliable pricing data.

Competition — How crowded the market is for this brand:

• 🟢 Low (under 20 listings) — Less competition, easier to sell
• 🟡 Medium (20–49 listings) — Moderate competition
• 🔴 High (50+ listings) — Crowded market, may take longer to sell or require lower pricing

Sell-Through — How quickly items in this brand tend to sell, based on how fast listings disappear from the platform:

• 🟢 Fast (within a week) — High demand, items move quickly
• 🟡 ~X days avg — Moderate demand
• 🔴 Slow (30+ days) — Low demand, expect to hold inventory

Listed — How long this specific deal has been available. A deal listed for 1 day may still be available. A deal listed for 14 days may already be gone, or there may be a reason nobody has grabbed it.

Thrift Finds is a research tool, not financial advice. All suggested sell prices, profit estimates, and market data are provided for informational purposes only. Before buying any item to resell:

• Do your own research. Check completed/sold listings on eBay to verify what items actually sell for — not just what they’re listed at. Our suggested prices are based on active listing prices, which may be higher than actual sale prices.
• Inspect the listing carefully. Photos, item condition, seller ratings, and return policies all affect whether a deal is worth pursuing.
• Shipping costs are estimates. Your actual cost to ship an item depends on weight, dimensions, packaging materials, carrier, and destination. Our estimates are category-based averages and may not reflect your actual costs.
• Platform fees vary. eBay and Etsy fee structures change and may include additional charges not reflected in our ~13% / ~12% estimates.
• Prices change constantly. Market values fluctuate as new listings appear and others sell or expire. A deal shown here may no longer be available or profitable by the time you act on it.
• Past performance doesn’t guarantee future results. Sell-through rates and trend data reflect recent market activity and may not predict future demand.
