Goodwill Stores Phoenix: Your Go-To for Thrift Shopping

If you’re in Phoenix and into thrift shopping, Goodwill – Retail Store and Donation Center is a spot worth checking out. This location is part of the larger Goodwill network, a well-known chain that’s been around for decades, recognized for supporting community programs through its thrift stores. That means every purchase here contributes to local job training and educational services, which adds a feel-good factor to your secondhand finds.

Goodwill Stores Phoenix offers a broad range of items, so you can expect to find everything from used clothing and vintage pieces to furniture and housewares. The mix changes daily, which makes each visit different. If you’re after some casual wear or hunting for a particular vintage item, there’s a good chance you’ll spot something that fits your style. The furniture selection can be hit or miss, but when a solid piece shows up, it’s usually a steal compared to new options.

Book lovers also have a place here. The store often stocks a variety of books, so you can pick up something to read without breaking the bank. It’s a nice perk that adds to the overall experience of browsing the shelves. Goodwill Stores Phoenix keeps things organized enough to make thrift shopping enjoyable, not overwhelming. It’s a place where your used clothing or household goods donation turns into opportunities for others while you find affordable, quality secondhand items. If you like the thrill of the thrift hunt mixed with the knowledge that your dollars support community efforts, this store fits the bill nicely.

We went to this location today for the 50% off sale. We managed to find some really amazing deals. I mostly found cute clothes for my kids and a few items for my husband. In total for all picture I spent $45, which is incredible! The store was extremely packed and busy but they had four registers open. They were getting people out pretty fast. There were zero carts but thankfully I had a stroller so I didn’t need one.

Great prices on clothing & kitchen items (linens, cookware, dishes & glassware) at this location…I find that every Goodwill is different in terms of pricing for different categories. I’m building a bit of a collection of fun, colorful & mid-century modern glasses, to match an old record holder I painted & will be using in the “entertainment lounge” (just a corner of the living space!). Over half of them are from this Goodwill, & they were no more than $4 each (some, on half price days, were 75 cents!). Now to just get those pesky price tags off!

I come shopping to this Goodwill because it’s conveniently across the street from where I live. I bring my grandchildren and my daughters here. Often today was the first time that I ran into somebody who was rude and just unwilling to help this morning I purchased a pair of tap shoes for my granddaughter for 499 and a few other things. I ran a few other errands so when we got home, I granddaughter put her tap shoes on so she could tap dance and they fell apart. When I went to look for my receipt. I realize I didn’t receive one today when I was at the store. So I went to the store. I asked if they could look up my purchase with the card that I use to pay for them, they called there was a cashier that was very helpful and was trying to help me. Until the manager by the name of Lindsey walked up and asked what the problem was explain to her. She was not even willing to listen as soon as she found out I didn’t have a receipt. She said she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t read I couldn’t return them and I did not want to get the money back what I wanted to do was purchase a different pair of tap shoes, but she did not want to hear that said she couldn’t do it. She was going to speak to another manager and that it was gonna take a while before they could find the purchase on the register that I bought the front, the young man that help me this morning happened to still be working. I asked him if he remembered me this from this morning and if he had given me my receipt, he clearly said no he did not give me my receipt this morning and when I told the manager Lindsay, she walked up to him in front of other customers started to scold him about it, which I think was not right. I think he just started working there and that is embarrassing. There’s a time and a place for that kind of stuff. I actually paid for another pair of tap shoes because she was unwilling to help me and try to make it seem like it was gonna take a long time to find the purchase on the computer. I’m sure she could help me if she wanted to, but Lindsey was rude and unwilling to help and not very nice to her employees. or the customers paying customers I paid for two pairs of tap shoes today one which were no good and that was wrong and she kept the shoes that I paid for

Find these employees a better Goodwill to be apart of. It’s smells awful, I’m a frequent GW shopper but this place is brutal. Second to that, for 5 months I’ve been visiting often, it’s all junk. The shelves are scrapped and empty. I’ve seen the same stuff for months. Most garbage and a typical dollar value for GW itself. All I’m saying is this one should shut its doors. Save your time for others in the area or take a ride for it to be worth your time and travel.

Edit another bad visit. We got a few items and needed a few bags. The worker immediately went for her phone and drink after we paid. She put nothing in the bags- she got on her phone and her drink. We asked “did you ring up bags?” And she did. She didn’t bag anything, nor offer too. When does the customer have to bag their stuff? There was nobody behind us. She watched us bag it. Do your job ? It’s kinda sad how much they are charging. Most of the dresses are $17+ and one was $40. I thrift for fun…but for people who need it and want to feel pretty too- insane and kinda asinine when you get these things for free. I’ve donated to goodwill and seen items being sold for more than what I paid. DVDs are $4+….. and you can’t use coupons or sales if you buy a “holiday” item. $15 for a knickknack that goes for $5 online…. Also it would be nice if the male cleaner knocked and announced BEFORE he entered because there were multiple woman in the restroom.
