If you’re in Scottsdale and into thrift shopping, the Scottsdale & Thunderbird Goodwill Retail Store and Donations Center is worth a visit. As part of the Goodwill chain, it’s known for its steady supply of affordable used clothing and other secondhand goods. Goodwill stores tend to have a solid reputation for well-organized aisles and a variety of items, and this location fits that mold. You can expect to find everything from vintage tees and dresses to practical furniture pieces and household items.
This Scottsdale thrift store goes beyond just clothes. It carries housewares, books, electronics, and sometimes even collectibles or décor that catch the eye. For people who enjoy digging through racks and shelves, it’s a nice setup. The store’s donations center also means there’s a decent turnover of inventory, so regular visits can pay off with fresh finds. Goodwill’s mission to support local communities through job training programs gives your purchases a bit of extra meaning too.
The variety here is what makes Scottsdale Goodwill Stores appealing. You might come in hoping for a pair of jeans and walk out with a vintage jacket or a mid-century lamp you didn’t expect. It’s a spot where thrift shopping feels casual and accessible, with enough selection to suit different tastes. If you’ve been hunting around Scottsdale for reliable thrift stores, this Goodwill location consistently delivers.

Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, housewares & more.
I visited the Goodwill location at Scottsdale and Thunderbird and had a mixed experience. The customer service manager was not very understanding regarding my return needs and refused to issue a credit back to the original form of payment, which was disappointing and felt inflexible given the situation. That said, the experience wasn’t a total loss. I took a moment to reflect, found faith in the situation, and reminded myself that not every challenge is meant to end negatively. While customer service policies could definitely be handled with more empathy and clarity, I left with a sense of peace that made the visit better than it could have been. With improved understanding and flexibility from management, this location could provide a much better customer experience.
I always find nice items for sale at this location. Great clothes for all ages. Great furniture and kids section especially. The housewares are nice and I’ve also found a lot of interesting and valuable things in the bags hanging on the walls. The prices can be a little high (lol at the $3 empty mason or jam jars).
This store is HUGE and very organized ….but clothing prices are all over the place (too high). I showed some examples in my pictures. I have to give credit to the leaders of this location for running a clean store though-it was like walking into a Macy’s…plus there is a TON of inventory. They should reduce the clothing prices and they would move a lot more items. I understand all GW’s have bumped up their prices but it’s simply too much at this store. There are a couple other Goodwills within 20 minutes of this store, that are much more realistic w their pricing structure. I’ll review my favorite GW store in Scottsdale area, see my other reviews.(I visited 5 area stores in 1 week)
This is the ideal perfect Scottsdale location being right next to Scottsdale Quarter, however and this is a BIG however why does the staff feel the need to write your number codes in BIG RED letters on the inside on the purse that is either white or cream colored? No one wants to walk around town with a beautiful new purse oh but look inside it’s the infamous big red letters from Good ol Goodwill! I almost bought 3 of them today, but then I saw the inside! Nope, not gonna happen! Do better Goodwill……..
A male employee without uniform working tonight made my experience very uncomfortable. He kept hovering and making rude remarks towards my daughter and I. He was very unprofessional. Definitely not going back to that Goodwill. There are so many other Goodwills nearby with better inventory and friendlier staff.
