Long-standing nonprofit chain with a range of pre-owned clothing, housewares & more.
Good second hand donation centre. There is plenty of parking and easy access to the store for all. The store is clean and well organized with lots of lighting. My wife and I have been to several Goodwill stores around Edmonton and this is one of the nicer ones. We always enjoy looking for a bargain and the prices are very reasonable. Obviously the prices should be cheaper as this is a store that takes donations and resell them. For the most part the quality of the goods is good. Things are well organized and the aisle are easy to get around. This location is out of our way so probably won’t return but we can recommend coming here.
Bought a lululemon shirt here for $24. When I got home I noticed that it had a bunch of small holes in it in one spot. I didn’t try on at the store because I had my baby with me- but I knew goodwill does exchanges so I felt good about buying it! Brought it back two days later with receipt and selected plenty of things to exchange. In fact, I was going to spend more money. Instead of exchanging it, about 7 store employees inspected the item and told me they couldn’t take it because it hadn’t been tagged properly. They said it didn’t look like anyone at their store had tagged it (essentially accusing me of trying to tag an item of my own and returning it). They said I’d need to come back another day when a manager is in. But I live out of town and made a special trip just to exchange the item. I was with my two small kids. I felt humiliated in front of the other shoppers. I love supporting used and non profits but this is a store I will 100% avoid in the future. Instead of honoring the return policy, they made me feel like absolute garbage and dehumanized. Don’t recommend. Edit: I was told by several other shoppers while I was arguing with the staff that this location is awful for exchanges for everything. Steer clear. It is clear that the management at this location treats their staff poorly- they are not even given authority to make a decision regarding $24 of merchandise while the manager and assistant manager have time off. My advice to management would be to empower your staff to care for customers. This will go a long way in receiving donations from the very customers who shop there. It is also not fair to the staff that there is no available manager on duty. They should not have to deal with a situation like this and fear retribution from a superior who isn’t even present to do their job. Please treat your staff better.
Their pottery is waaaaaay overpriced! A small hand made dish $20 to $25!!! Come on! I have seen small and larger at other stores from $3 to $8 dollars.😲
(I am allowing my friend to post This review on my Google account Because Goodwill has Not yet called him to come pick up his phone, which he left on their counter along with his winter jacket. Because of Goodwill‘s negligence and ignorance, my friend is sick and has frostbite from being outside all night without His winter coat that Goodwill decided to keep) I wish I could put no stars on this review. I was extremely offended and extremely saddened by the lack of respect I was given at Goodwill. On Friday Dec 12th I walked into Goodwill and went directly to security and informed him of the three jackets and boots I walked in with, do to a previous negative experience. I went to try on some boots when I received a distressing phone call from a friend. Distracted, I went to the electronic section for some headphones. I wanted to try out a pair with my aux cable I had in my back pack. I asked the security guard to come grab my bag when he began yelling take those boots off. I told him I was not leaving the store just yet. After seven minute rant about how rude he was being, I politely left the store. I had forgotten my phone on the counter and my green Edmonton Eskimos starter jacket on the back rack. I went back inside and asked for my jacket and Phone which they only screamed “get out, We’re calling the police”. Not one employee seemed to care that it was -30 outside and I was wearing a T-shirt a jean shirt and a thin spring jacket. They simply said get out we’re calling the police. After leaving the store I had no way to call a cab or a friend to pick me up. I struggled walking around in the bitter cold to find someone to let me to use a phone. After 10 PM, all stores closed and I wasn’t able to get inside anywhere. I literally almost froze to death thank God, someone called an ambulance. And I was taken to the hospital.
Love this store have spent lot of time and money here and have referred this place to many of my customers as I am a hair dresser working on Stonyplain road . So I see many people over my 34 years of cutting hair in the not so wealthy neighbor hood . I went to the location on stony plain road by the wallmart when I was going home sept 25,2024 . I happen to see my favorite mugs on the shelf as I have bought many many of them . Little to my surprise you guys were charging 10.50. $ a mug used mug and 25.00$ for the topper mugs . I said to the lady that last time I came I paid you guys 3.50$ for the mugs . She said I would have to talk to supervisor. She was gone . So on my way home I stopped at Winners in Spruce Grove and took pictures of the same mugs brand new for 7.99$ a mug and the topper mugs were 12.99$ each . So I waited till next day to come into the city and talk to manager . She wasn’t in so I ended up talked to a assistant manager and she said to me mugs were from Amazon I showed her and many of your staff at that location that you can buy the mugs at a Winners location anywhere and showed her and staff picture of brand new mugs from winners . She said they were specialty mugs I said no s. Showed her that I was there a couple months ago and bought 15 mugs from you guys for 3,50$ each . I was told that all they could do is I had to wait till they changed the color tag and I could get 50 percent off . Why would you charge double the price of what they are in the store they came from as they are used . Your lady was also rude about it and talking to the staff about me to them then she was following me around . Sad that that’s how you make your money double the price from a donated . Sad sad . I will be telling everyone about my experience in this store . Even on market place they are half price . Please be aware of your prices from donated and I mean donated people
