This spot is a solid choice if you want to dig through racks of used clothing, including casual wear, work attire, and occasionally some vintage pieces that catch your eye. It’s the kind of place where the inventory changes constantly, so regular visits can lead to some rewarding secondhand finds.
Goodwill is known nationwide for supporting community programs through their stores, and this location in Kansas City carries that tradition forward. They stock much more than clothes. If you’re furnishing your apartment or hunting for home essentials, you’ll find furniture, housewares, and kitchen items here. The mix is always interesting, from sturdy chairs and small tables to dishes and décor. Plus, the book section can surprise you with some great reads for a fraction of the cost of new books.
What makes Goodwill Midtown stand out among Kansas City Goodwill Stores is the variety and quality of vintage items that sometimes pop up. While it’s not exclusively a vintage shop, thrifters who keep an eye out can score retro jackets, classic denim, or unique accessories. The store’s size allows for a broad selection of merchandise, so you can spend some time browsing and uncovering pieces that fit your style or needs.
If you enjoy thrifting as a way to shop sustainably and save money, Goodwill Midtown offers a reliable, well-curated experience in Kansas City. I went right on time to get the 75% off blue tagged items. And all the clothes I got were blue tagged except for the 'Miss Me' capris. Which I spent only 9 bucks on. I like how they did NOT jack the prices up on the high end brands like most stores do now. They keep it fair as they should. I really appreciate that. The store was well organized and clean.
Super clean and organized. Donations person came out right away. Got welcomed when I walked in, dressing rooms available. Happy to have a Goodwill closer to downtown!!
Honestly, I had a lot of great finds at this Goodwill. Decently priced for the most part. However, myself and several other customers had to wait in line for over 10 minutes because there was no one at the checkout and not a worker to be found. Employees just didn't seem to care.
Really wish I could give a higher rating but not with their bag policy. Last two times I've gone, I managed to find items but the bag shouldnt cost the same as the items im buying. Or, like today where I find loads of things, and the store is just out of bags completely. Not everyone drives to put their purchases away or lives nearby so what's the purpose? What kinda store doesn't have bags?
Been there a couple of times, it’s clean and they have good items but my 1 star review goes because it’s been two times that I get here, and it’s closed, before 7pm! they be closing like 30mins early, they can just change the hours to 6pm.
