I visited this location in August when I first moved to the area. As you'll see from my photos and videos, this is a fairly organized Goodwill location. I won't say that everything is perfectly neat or anything like that. After all--it IS a thrift store. However, for the most part this place is maintained well. Starting with the storefront, I'll admit that this place is good! I didn't see any loose trash or cigarette butts anywhere. No debris anywhere. The cleanliness extended to the interior of the store; I found the interior just as clean as the exterior. No food, clothing, or items of any kind were found on the floor. Some things were displaced, yes. Again...this is a consignment store. Lol. But the men's restroom was also CLEAN!! I couldn't believe it. That's one of the reasons I gave them 4 as opposed to 3 stars. Additionally, I the staff were very helpful and friendly. Everyone seemed to be invested in ensuring that I had a positive experience. The gentleman (whose name escapes me) who helped me find the office chair I was seeking was GREAT! I got lucky because this chair was brand new, and had been returned 2 or 3 times prior! Because it couldn't fit in the car of the recipient??! Because they didn't like it in their hime???home???! I have NO IDEA what happened with those 3 different returns. What I DO know is that this chair was brand new and PERFECT for my house. If you're looking for something in particular, try this location. You won't be disappointed.
I often don't get time to go thrifting. I had some time today, and I enjoyed going through the aisles. I get to the register and they wouldn't sell me my items (Stuff they receive for free) because one of my items didn't have a price tag and another the price tag was smashed. Said they would have to re-tag the items and then it goes back onto the shelf the following day. I lost a close friend and the one item with the "Smashed" tag was perfect to put flowers in! So, I gave them all my items and told the casher lady, I don't want any of my items and said thank you!! As I was walking out her and the supervisor were taking about me like if I was rude! Little did they know I was leaving heartbroken. So, if you see one of the Donated items with no tags or a smashed tag, GOODWILL WILL NOT SELL IT! Also, I will no longer be taking my donations to Goodwill!! You can't accept people to spend time and money because you can't give them an actual price at the register. Terrible, just terrible!!!
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience at the Tropicana Goodwill location. It was not a first-come, first-served process for the items in the counter case. I waited approximately 5 to 8 minutes for assistance while an attendant was ringing up another customer and putting away hangers near her register. When I finally asked for help, I was told to get in line and that once I reached the register, someone could assist me. During this time, the Manager clearly saw that I was waiting but did not acknowledge me or offer assistance. When I finally reached the register, the item I wanted had already been sold to another customer. I spoke with the same female Manager to ask if it was store policy to make customers wait in line just to view an item in the counter case. She told me I should have spoken with someone wearing a black vest, like she had on, and clarified that this is not store policy. I explained that her staff should be properly informed so customers are not misled. This experience caused unnecessary frustration and wasted time, and it even affected my blood pressure due to the stress. The lack of communication and consistency among employees was disappointing. The Tropicana Goodwill used to be my favorite store, but unfortunately, this visit has changed my perception.
